- Yes, you can ship luggage to the next place very easily
- Outside tokyo things are far less accessible for people rolling around 50-80 lbs of stuff. Lots of stairs and escalators going in the opposite direction to you.
- Trains are your friend
- but flights are extremely cheap
- cash is still king.
- Yes, CCs and touch/apple payments are widespread, but you WILL run into places where it matters.
- you NEED a coin purse as equiv $1-$10 purchases (70% of all) are all denominated in coins or you get coins back
- standard wallet is not enough
- ATMs are at convenience shops. you don’t need too much cash before going. max like 50,000¥. more like 10,000¥.
