Thank you PC Magazine(Link to article). I understand that I may be taking your article and twisting a little bit from what it MEANT to say, but here is what I saw in it: Google and chrome aren’t for openness anymore. They’re evil and trying to make as much money as possible not by competing but by shutting everyone out. They’re Microsoft 2.0 and need to be stopped at whatever cost possible.

That is why I am going to only use Firefox and other browsers from now on. I will keep chrome only for testing my websites. Otherwise it’s going to be a ghost.

I’m going to delete all my bookmarks
Delete my History

Delete everything possible that Chrome could keep about me and disable anything remotely tracking sounding.

I ask that everyone do the same in the name of freedom that isn’t yet taken, in the name of freedom that isn’t yet infringed, but that isn’t being entirely protected and is in fact being encroached upon by the clutches of Google and her internet imperialism.

Chrome, it’s over.

School is about to end and summer is almost here and so now is that time of the year where I can comfortably begin to accept and plan projects for over the summer.

Don’t let the technical lingo scare you; It’s just to show the skills I have available, but I do not need to speak in this other language if you don’t want me to.

I am currently available for web development projects using PHP with CakePHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, XHTML, or CSS on both Windows and Linux Hosting. I am also available for setting up websites with WordPress blogs, PHPbb forums, or even CMS systems securely so you can use what works for you.

However, what makes me different is that I can make complicated and custom websites that are created with your needs in mind. It is as specialized or generalized as you need with whatever features you might want. All for a reasonable price.

If you have a project please contact me via the contact form on my website and we can begin the process of estimating a price and feature set for your website where we can see the costs and time requirements to complete your project.

Web Developer

I took this project on for my friend to create a dynamic website that could be easily managed by someone who knew nothing about web developing. It featured custom pages(Like WordPress), Listings of homes for sale with ability to “feature” certain ones, an admin panel, image uploading, and many other features. It was, however very nice looking and cool, still flawed in that it was a pure PHP project which I did with the intentions of “Just getting done.” So although you can read the code for the website it’s not very clean or easy to maintain. It is my best PHP website before I began to use CakePHP

Although I never met the person who wanted this website, the friend I mentioned did all the business for me and I did the work, it turned out he never did anything with the website. Looking at the website today it appears that the owner has done nothing with the website. I have never been able to talk to him but either he felt it was too hard or did not care that much to take care of the website. The pages on the website were created by my friend and then we were paid. Afterwards checking back on this website it appears to be a dud which is kind of disappointing to me. I think there were several areas where the website was a not user-friendly. Thankfully CakePHP, which if you can’t tell I love greatly, has solved many of those issues I used to have. But this website was not all that flawed and I don’t understand why the owner doesn’t use it more. Checking back on the website I have noticed that it is still fully functional, fast, and easy to use. Even the old issue of FckEditor loading slowly was not much of an issue on a strained connection which I’m writing this from.

One of my proudest achievements, this was my first real business projects that I completed.

Go to: Southcore Realty.com(DEAD LINK: I guess he didn’t keep the website. I still have the code just in case I would need to show it off though)

The HTML Hell Page.

Wow… The HTML Hell Page. What an awesome page that is. Read it over, learn it, breathe it, know it, and finally understand it. It’s probably something that most web development teachers totally overlook and will never teach their students until it’s basically too late and now they have to figure it out. This single page, along with similar pages preaching most of the same practices, would do more to improve the internet than all the classes in improving and writing better javascript, php, ruby or whatever else. Because it’s one thing to write a bad back end but the front end is a horrendously hard thing to do properly because it’s so artsy. Damn if the people on My Space saw this may so many people wouldn’t have fled in mass Exodus (my self included :P )

Total throw back for me to the times when I began to web develop and it makes me glad that my websites never degraded to these levels… Unlike my now unused MySpace page. Which I might add is very cool looking and matched the design on my twitter and this website until I switched to wordpress.

I recommend this and Eric Raymond’s other articles, how to’s, and his blog for reading as he is a pretty smart guy. As always take everything with a grain of salt but I recommend taking your limited daily attention spans (of which lifehacker has told me I must limit to important things. We only have so much of it) to his website to read his wonderful articles

I’m excited. I’ve finally gotten the Android Development tools to install and work together. My issue all this time was trying to get eclipse to show the “android” section in it’s settings. After I updated Ubuntu, made the ADT was installed in eclipse, downloaded the new SDK, updated the SDK it finally showed up! Now I’m just playing around with it and trying to understand how to develop for android on my own just a little bit before I get in to reading the many books I have on my computer on how to program for android.

I’ve been wanting to get in to some kind of open source development for a while and since I know C# pretty well I think that learning Java and how to develop for Android should be pretty easy for me to learn and build some confidence before I move on to other languages I’ve also been wanting to learn.

Wish me luck *Crosses-Fingers*…
